Abstract

This study aims to determine the use of medicinal plants that exist around the community as one of the traditions of Community Medicine in Orahili Village, Sirombu District, West Nias Regency and to determine how to process traditional medicinal plants used by the people of Orahili Village, Sirombu District, West Nias Regency. This study is a type of qualitative research with the number of informants as many as 10 (ten) people. Data collection techniques with observation, interviews and documentation. Data analysis technique uses a method that consists of three stages, namely data reduction, data display, and conclusion. The conclusion in this study is, the use of traditional medicinal plants in the village of Orahili is a tradition that has been passed down from generation to generation by previous parents, pengelohana medicinal plants in the village of Orahili done by boiling, pounded, evaporated, steamed, pounded, milled, sliced, shredded and kneaded in water. Suggestions in this study are (1) in utilizing medicinal plants, is expected to be maintained and taught to the next generation. (2) it should be determined in the processing of medicinal plants consumed by Orahili villagers how many doses can be used in preventing and treating diseases. (3) follow-up research is necessary, meaning that it is expected that the next researcher to be able to examine more things related to the utilization of traditional medicinal plants, especially with the local wisdom of a region.

Abstract

Learning difficulty is a condition in which the competence or achievement achieved does not match the standard criteria that have been set, either in the form of attitudes, knowledge or skills. The purpose of this research is to describe students' learning difficulties in Science- Biology material in class VII SMP Negeri Amandraya 2021 academic year / 2022, To find out what are the factors that cause learning difficulties in Science- Biology material in class VII SMP Negeri 4 Amandraya in the 2021/2022 academic year, To find out solutions in overcoming students' learning difficulties in Science- Biology material in class VII SMP Negeri 4 Amandraya In the 2021/2022 academic year, the type of research used is qualitative research with a descriptive approach that describes the existing data. The data source in this study were 27 students at SMP Negeri 4 Amandraya Class VII, consisting of 16 boys and 11 girls. . Data collection techniques, namely by interviewing documentation, and distributing questionnaires. In accordance with the results of the interviews that the researchers conducted, the results of testing in this study were student learning difficulties, namely the lack of focus and concentration in student learning caused by internal factors and external factors. Based on the results of research that has been carried out by researchers regarding the analysis of the factors of student learning difficulties in Biology Science class VII SMP Negeri 4 Amandraya. It can be concluded that the factors of student learning difficulties are influenced by factors from themselves, factors from family, factors from school, and factors from the community environment. From the results of this study the researcher gave suggestions that there must be cooperation between parents and schools in educating and motivating students in teaching, and paying attention to student learning developments.

Abstract

This research is aimed to develope the teaching media by web-based through scientific learning which is able increase the student motivation and the result of student study. This research is Research and Development by using 4D development method. This research is experimented to the student 10th class in SMA Negeri 1 Telukdalam consist of 20 students. To standardize the product, it is done through three steps of test, consist of: test of validity, test of pratical, and test of efectivity. The research instrument is assessment questionnaire and evaluation test to find out the result of students study. The research output show that, this teaching media is valid with 95,725% and appropriate to be implemented. The average of pratical value by teachers 3,7 and students 3,8 in practically category. The students motivation result is 92,25% with cognitive average 88,7 compared before media implementation with average 58,8. Based on this research result concluded that teaching media of virtual biology by web-based through scientific learning is able to increase the motivation and result of student study additionally, as a valid, practical, and effective teaching media.

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to describe the increase in student motivation and increase student learning outcomes through the student facilitator and explain learning model. The research method used is a classroom action research method which is carried out in two cycles. This classroom action research was carried out in four stages, namely: planning, implementing action, observing, and reflecting. Based on the research, the students' learning outcomes in the first cycle were 64.84 with learning completeness of 56.25%. After reflection in the first cycle, the implementation of the second cycle so that there is an increase in learning outcomes of 82.5 with learning mastery reaching 90.62% based on learning outcomes in cycle I and cycle II it can be said that the learning model is facilitator and student explanation. Can improve student learning outcomes. In line with the conclusions above, the suggestions of this research are: (1) for Biology science subject teachers to apply the student facilitator learning model and explain in order to improve students' abilities because it can make students active and build cooperative nature, (2) for readers who wish to research further, in order to improve learning methods by generating new ideas so that the student facilitator learning model and explaining can get better results than before.

Abstract

This research is motivated by the use of chemical pesticides that cause pollution and are harmful to health. This study aims to determine the effect of betel leaf extract (Piper betle L) on the mortality of walang sangit. This research method is a quantitative data collection technique used in observation and documentation studies. Research has shown that betel leaf extract has the ability to control the movement and death of stink bugs. The process of making betel leaf extract is very simple, effective, does not require large costs and is environmentally friendly. Based on the results of the study, betel leaf extract can be used as a natural insecticide to control stink bugs because it contains the active ingredient tannins, toxic substances (toxins) that can reduce the mortality movement of stink bugs.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of the index card match learning model on students' cognitive learning outcomes in the Integrated Science subject for class VIII SMP Negeri 1 Toma in the 2022/2023 academic year. This study uses a quantitative approach with a quasi-experimental method. The sample of this research is class VIII-A with 30 students and class VIII-B with 31 students. The instrument used is the learning achievement test which is divided into two, namely the initial test and the final test and documentation. Based on the results of data processing that has been carried out by researchers, the following results are obtained: "Based on the results of data processing that has been carried out and the calculation of the hypothesis test, tcount = 3.62 and ttable = 1.67. This shows the value of tcount ttable, then reject Ho and accept Ha, it can be concluded that there is an influence of the Index Card Match Learning Model on Student Learning Outcomes in Integrated Science Subject Class VIII SMP Negeri 1 Toma 2022/2023 Academic Year.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the increase in student learning outcomes through the discovery learning model at SMP Negeri 1 Idanotae in the 2022/2023 Academic Year. This research is a class action research (CAR). The instruments used: (a) Student observation sheet, (b) Interview guide sheet, (c) Field notes, (d) Learning achievement test. The research subjects were 31 class VIII-A students of SMP Negeri 1 Idanotae. Based on the results of research that has been carried out by researchers regarding improving the quality and learning outcomes of students through the discovery learning model, it can be concluded that the learning outcomes of students have increased from cycle I where there were 71% of students who completed classically and in cycle II all students classical finish. This increase was obtained because the discovery learning model can be student-centered, where students actively discover concepts on the human respiratory system for themselves. Based on the results of this study, researchers suggest that the discovery learning model can be used to improve student learning outcomes.

Abstract

The aim of this research is to determine and describe improvements in the quality and cognitive learning outcomes of students. This research method is classroom action research with 2 cycles, namely: planning, action, observation and reflection. The research results showed that students were active in expressing opinions, learning to discuss, clarifying ideas and concepts of the material they were studying so that student learning outcomes from cycle 1 to cycle 2 were better. Conclusion: the talking chips learning model is effective for improving the quality of learning and students' cognitive learning outcomes, where each student gets the opportunity to make their contribution and listen to each other's views and thoughts. The suggestion put forward by researchers is that integrated science subject teachers should use the talking chips learning model in learning activities at school.
